Chicken Pulao

Chicken pulao1


  • Chicken: 200 gms
  • Basmati Rice: 2 cups
  • Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder: 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder: 1 tsp
  • Cumin Powder: 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Salt: As per taste
  • Ginger&Garlic paste: 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala powder: 1 tsp
  • Lemon Juice: 1tsp
  • Oil: 2 tbsp
  • Onion: 1
  • Tomato: 1
  • Coriander Leaves: for Garnish
  • Water: 4 Cups
  • Whole spices: 4 cloves, 8-9 black pepper, small cinamon stick, 1 bay leaf


Marinade the chicken with chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, ginger-garlic paste and lemon for 40-60 mins.collage

Heat oil in a pan and add whole spices and cumin seeds.IMG_20170524_115731

Add onion and cook the onions till soft and then add tomatoes.IMG_20170524_120112

Once tomatoes are soft, add chicken marinade and cook for 3 minsIMG_20170524_120258

open the lid, give chicken a mix and add coriander leaves and cook for 1 minIMG_20170524_120519

add rice and water and give light mix. cook the rice for 10 min on low to medium heat. check the rice in between. IMG_20170524_120840

Serve the chicken pulao with vegetable raita or dahi.
