French Beans Sabji/Upkari

Beans Bhaji1


  • French beans: 2 cups chopped
  • Onion: 1
  • Green Chillies: 3 finely chopped
  • Oil: 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seed: 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves: 4-5 nos
  • Garlic: 3 chopped or chrushed
  • Turmeric: 1/2 tsp
  • Salt: As per taste
  • Fresh Coconut: 4 tbsp


heat oil in kadhai, add mustard seeds, garlic and curry leavesIMG_20170523_113101

add green chillies and onion and fry till onions are translucent.IMG_20170523_113227

add turmeric and salt and mix well.IMG_20170523_113407

add chopped french beans and close the lid and cook for 10-15 mins on low to medium heatIMG_20170523_113626

Add fresh shredded coconut and cook for 2 more mins and then switch off the stove.IMG_20170523_115937

Serve this sabji with chapati or hot boiled rice and dal/sambar
